The Gueuze Society

The Gueuze Society unites lambic and gueuze fans from Belgium and abroad. The association was founded in 2012 and provides infomation about the regional products of the Pajottenland (more specifically the region's beers of spontaneous fermentation such as lambic, gueuze, kriek and other lambic beers) by organising festivals and lectures. The Gueuze Society aims to bring gueuze lovers into contact with eachother.

The Next Night of Great Thirst Will Take Place on September 11th, 2020

The 9th International Gueuze & Kriek Festival of the Pajottenland, also commonly known as the Night of the Great Thirst, will take place on Friday, 11th September 2020 in Itterbeek (Dilbeek). From 7 PM onwards, visitors can savour Lambic, Gueuze, Kriek, Faro, Framboise and numerous other Lambic beers from all producers of the Pajottenland and the Senne Valley.

In April, The Gueuze Society moved the Night of the Great Thirst to 11th September 2020 hoping to welcome you then. But because of the recent COVID19 circumstances and safety measures we decided in consultation with the municipal council of Dilbeek, Tourism Flemish Brabant and Visit Flanders to permanently cancel this year’s edition.

The health of our volunteers and visitors is of the utmost importance to us. Also, the extra costs for logistics and material and the limited amount of people allowed to attend the event would make this edition heavily unprofitable.

It was not an easy decision to make, but it is in our view the most sensible decision given the circumstances.

Together with the people of the restaurants and pubs industry, we hope for better times and aim to welcome you at the next edition of the festival.
